Interesting. I definitely take your point that clickbait headlines can be harmful but I don’t actually agree that women can be sexist against men. It’s a bit like the concept of reverse racism — it’s not actually possible. Yes, it’s possible to discriminate unfairly against men on the basis of their gender, but there needs to be historical context.

In a society that’s set up to benefit men when they exercise sexism against women (and where institutionally, economically and culturally, men hold the cards — which is certainly the case in France) it’s not possible for women to be sexist against men, not least because (as the playing field wasn’t equal to begin with) there is no way it can result in a tangible benefit to the woman to do so.

Plus I do think in this instance the fact that thousands, rather than a couple of hundred people got to read Harmange’s message is an ultimate promotion of her feminist message. But agree there will be incels and similar who see it as a reason to hate on women more.
