I don’t usually respond to comments like this. But even the title of the piece makes clear I don’t believe I was raped. Your dismissal of what I clearly describe – again, IN THE TITLE! – as a not-quite non-consensual experience as “a learning experience” is the sort of dangerous path women have been led down for decades and literally the whole point of the #metoo hashtag in the first place was to stop that happening. It was never shorthand or a metaphor for rape.

I’m sorry if you were triggered and that you have clearly suffered an awful experience that you still need help to process. But minimising the experience of others won’t help you. There’s no sliding scale of trauma’s effect.
